Participants in the DiMenna-Nyselius Library's 2023 Summer Reading Challenge are invited for a special tour of The Met Cloisters (Fort Tryon Park, New York, NY) on Saturday, September 30. Tour given by Dr. Marice Rose, Professor of Art History & Visual Culture, Fairfield University.

11:20am, Meet in the main hall of The Met Cloisters. We will need to check in as a group.

11:30am -12:45pm,  Private tour given by Dr. Rose

12:45pm, Lunch (cost not covered with museum admission) at Trie Cafe, located within the museum. See exhibition inspired menu for Rich Man, Poor Man: Art, Class, and Commerce in a Late Medieval Town

Explore more of the museum and gardens at your leisure

3:00pm-4:00pm, Optional meet-up at Tryon Public House  (0.3 mile walk, approx. 7 min. walk, from the museum)

Space is limited. Registration required and open first to Reading Challengers (will open to non-Challenger faculty/staff if there is room). Please bring $28 in exact cash for museum admission. We are working to supplement the cost of admission, but there is no guarantee. Transportation and lunch on your own.

Due to the museum location inside Fort Tryon Park in Northern Manhattan, please allow for additional travel time. The Met Cloisters is located at 99 Margaret Corbin Drive, Fort Tryon, New York, NY.
