SUMMARY:CAE & Library Book Club for Faculty & Staff
DESCRIPTION:Feeling bold? Maybe even a little rebellious? The Center for
Academic Excellence (CAE) and DiMenna–Nyselius Library invite faculty and
staff to our Spring 2025 Book Club\, where we'll dive into Whatever It Is\,
I'm Against It: Resistance to Change in Higher Education by former
Macalester College President Brian C. Rosenberg.\n\nThis lively and
thought-provoking read explores the ways we (successfully and
unsuccessfully) resist change in academia—whether it’s curricular
innovation\, technological shifts\, or even just rearranging the faculty
lounge's coffee pot. It’s part sociology\, part humor\, and all too
relatable. (Spoiler alert: you might see yourself in a chapter or two! And
that’s ok!)\n\nThe book club will meet three times this semester\, with
 the third on Tuesday\, April 8\, from 2:00-3:00 pm\, with follow-up
meetings in early March and early April. The discussions will take place in
the Frederickson Family Innovation Lab\, off the lobby of the
DiMenna-Nyselius Library. Refreshments will be served at each meeting\, and
we encourage any interested faculty and staff to join us for what promises
to be some truly lively discussions.\n\nThe Library has acquired an
umlimited digital license for the book\, which can be read online or
downloaded to your phone or iPad from the following link:

\n\nFor this meeting on April 8\, please read Chapters 6 and 7 and come
prepared to join the conversation! No reservations are required!
