Please join us for our series, Scholars in Focus, giving you a glimpse into the exciting work happening across the University. Two faculty members will discuss their research for 15 minutes each, followed by Q&A.
This virtual Scholars in Focus, on September 16th, will feature Beth Boquet, PhD, Professor of English, and Sarah Bollinger, Senior Director, Career Development, Dolan School of Business.
Dr. Boquet will present "Mark My Words: Vocal Performance and a Life Lived in Letters". What is it about someone's voice that is so uniquely them? What does it mean to "hear" someone's voice in their writing? How do we connect to loved ones through the things they leave behind? Letters, recordings, found objects. In this presentation, I will share work on my current project, which explores the role the health humanities can play in forming, sustaining, and deepening Continuing Bonds with our deceased loved one.
Beth Boquet is a Professor of English and Director of the Writing Center at Fairfield University.
Sarah Bollinger will present "Adapting to Change: How is Higher Education preparing students to be workforce ready?"
